We envision a climate in which students and associates are provided with the best conditions for learning and working, characterized by mutual respect and support.
Summary
Stage I
AWARENESS & EDUCATION
This program offers sessions delivered by Indigenous speakers and associates, providing students with information on Indigenous First Nations and using interactive activities to encourage them to view colonization from a non-traditional perspective. Students will also be provided with project materials to translate the knowledge gained into practical projects for their daily lives.
During Stage 2 of the program, students will acquire skills to conduct resourceful research and learn about change and how it can be implemented. Indigenous speakers will share their experiences, history, and culture, while challenging and uncovering the concepts of "change" and "colonization" through discussions. By looking at colonization from a new found perspective, students will be encouraged to gain a deeper understanding of its impact in the Canadian settler colonial context.
